Learn everything a person needs to know about good nutrition at a free virtual event that will demonstrate how practicing good nutrition will lead to improvements in physical and mental health.

The 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 10 class will be presented by Dr. Renee M. Poole, a family medicine specialist with more than 15 years of experience in the medical field. She graduated with honors from St. Louis University School of Medicine in Missouri in 2005 and now affiliates with many hospitals, including USC’s Kenneth Norris Jr. Cancer Hospital and Keck School of Medicine.

She cooperates with many other doctors and specialists in the USC Care Medical Group Inc.

In the lecture, Poole will emphasize that good nutrition is the key to good mental and physical health, and that eating a balanced diet is an important part of good health for everyone.

The kind and amount of food you eat affects the way you feel and how your body works. Good nutrition means your body is getting all the nutrients, vitamins, and minerals it needs to work its best.

Most people are aware that good nutrition, coupled with physical activity, can help maintain a healthy weight. But the benefits of good nutrition isn’t limited to weight. It can also help reduce the risk of heart disease, diabetes, stroke, some cancers, and osteoporosis; it can reduce high blood pressure and lower high cholesterol, and it can actually improve your well-being and increase your energy level.
