More than seven months after the devastating Eaton Fire claimed 19 lives and destroyed 9,418 structures in Altadena, the community is rallying around survivors with a free family golf clinic designed to help those impacted by the fire.

The Eaton Fire Family Day, scheduled for Saturday, August 23 from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Brookside Golf Club in Pasadena, will provide much more than golf instruction.

Families affected by the January 7 fire that burned 14,021 acres will receive free golf equipment and apparel, opportunities for ongoing golf programs through First Tee — Greater Pasadena, and financial literacy education courtesy of East West Bank.

The clinic, located at 1133 Rosemont Avenue in Pasadena, requires advance registration due to limited participation slots.

Attendees who participate in the financial literacy class will be eligible for raffle prizes.

The January 7 Eaton Fire stands as one of the most destructive in the area’s recent history, with the blaze that ignited in Altadena ultimately destroying 9,418 structures across its 14,021-acre burn area.

All aspects of the event are free to participants.
