Join Friday Coffee Meetup, presented by Pasadena ad agency Echo-Factory, on Friday, January 8, to discuss Nick Stein’s ideas behind mindfulness in the time of COVID-19.

Following the discussion from 8:30 to 10 a.m., participants are encouraged to stay online for open networking.

Nick Stein is a certified trainer in the field of meditation and mindfulness, and a highly rated and experienced Vistage Speaker. Before finding this calling, I was a non-fiction TV director, writer and showrunner for 40 years for all the major networks and cable channels. His clients included National Geographic, Discovery, Smithsonian Channels and PBS.

It was as showrunner of the National Geographic hit series “Border Wars” that Stein began his journey from embedded war zone filmmaker to mindfulness-based resilience trainer to law enforcement. His four years at the U.S.-Mexico border allows him to speak with authority about the secular and contemplative tools used to ease personal suffering.

Over the last 8 year, Stein has taught myriad populations, including federal and local law enforcement: Border Patrol, DEA, Cambridge PD; high tech startups like Sellbrite and GoDaddy, and legacy corporations, such as the Ford Motor Company.

You can see more of his background and client list on the website www.StrategicStillness.com. His site reflects the unique style of teaching mindfulness that he brings to a variety of populations and institutions. Using his strong communications background, he helps people start and maintain a meditation practice by emphasizing its logical, practical and learnable nature. Under that banner, he shares his hard-won knowledge with CEOs and key executives in a multiplicity of industries. Stein

Stein also has extensive experience teaching law enforcement personnel as well as inmates inside the LA County Men’s Jail. He is the author of “Mindfulness as a Second Language” published by GoalKeeper Press.

In Friday’s free event, Stein will focus on using mindfulness as a tool for building resiliency, self-regulation, meaning and perspective. With its emphasis on self-awareness, training attention, letting go and accessing positive emotions, this practice consciously addresses the issues at hand in a far calmer and less reactive way.
