Learn How to Protect Yourself from Scams and Fraud

The Pasadena Senior Center will host Miles McNeeley of the Los Angeles-based nonprofit Wise and Healthy Aging who will lecture on how to avoid becoming a victim of scams and fraud at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 29.

This online scam and fraud self-defense workshop will cover how to identify scams, report incidents of fraud to law enforcement, and how to develop resources and tools to use when approached by scammers.

McNeeley, a certified social worker who is a Master of Social Work (MSW), will answer your questions following the presentation.

Wise and Healthy Aging is a community-based nonprofit social services organization that came out of a merger of WISE Senior Services and the Center for Healthy Aging, formerly Senior Health and Peer Counseling, in November 2007.

Each of these organizations served the community for more than three decades, earning national reputations for innovative and effective programs and services.

Wise and Healthy aging’s mission, according to its website, is to advance the dignity and quality of life of older adults through leadership, advocacy and high-quality, innovative services.
