Both Congressman Adam B. Schiff and newly elected Pasadena Mayor Victor Gordo addressed the Pasadena-Foothills Association of REALTORS® (PFAR) 114th Annual Inaugural and Awards Virtual Ceremony Friday, as the Association installed new president Barry Storch to lead them through the new year.
Congresswoman Judy Chu, State Senator Anthony J. Portantino, and Assemblymember Chris Holden also addressed the online event.
The virtual event, themed “Leading Change,” honored the local real estate community while installing the 2021 officers and directors.

A former beekeeper, Storch emphasized the importance of planting seeds in order to thrive, something he said he learned through working with the industrious insects.
Storch also served recently a State Director for the California Association of Realtors.
Hosted by PFAR’s Past President Emilie Broughton and California Association of Realtors 2021 President, Dave Walsh, PFAR highlighted its work with Pasadena Educational Foundation and Pasadena Education Network, work which resulted in PFAR being named the 2020 recipient of the CalSPRA Excellence in Communications Award, for their Pasadena Unified School District Realtor Certification program.
Lorri L. Jean, CEO, Los Angeles LGBT Center, delivered the event’s inspirational message. The Los Angeles LGBT Center has expanded its efforts to serve seniors through their Pride Pantry and Hello Club programs, and received a $1,000 donation from PFAR to assist in their advocacy ventures.
The 2021 Officers and Directors installed with Storch were Sarah Moore of Dilbeck Real Estate, as President-Elect; Joyce Kristensson, Berkshire Hathaway Home Services, as secretary; Jon Butler, Douglas Elliman Real Estate, as treasurer; and Hazel Perera, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices as Multiple Listing Director.
Also installed were directors Lynnette West-Cater of Westlyn Realtors; Kay Tolentino of TradeMark Real Estate, and Megan Spargo-Ferrell of Compass.
Neha Jespersen, deasy penner podley; Martin Mesa of Rate One Financial, and Immediate Past President Eddie Ramirez of deasy penner podley, all return as directors.
Retired Board Members also honored were Lisa Diaz, Deno Kidde of Sotheby’s International Realty, Amy Engler of Compass, and Sid Karsh of Sid Karsh Real Estate and Steve Haussler of Coldwell Banker.

Realtor of the Year and the 2020 President Award’s recipient, Adam Bray-Ali of Coldwell Banker, who helped launch PFAR’s Thursday morning Live program, PFAR Weekly Live!, was also honored with a PFAR award.
Martin Mesa of Rate One Financial was honored as affiliate of the year. New member mentor Ruth McNevin of RE/MAX was honored as well, along with Humanitarian of the Year Del Lile, of Compass, who led the Pasadena Unified School District Realtor® Certification Program.
Gordon Peterson of Fidelity National Title received PFAR’s Lifetime Affiliate Achievement, and Peggy Vaccaro of deasy penner podley was recognized for Lifetime Realtor® Achievement, for their careers spanning more than twenty years.
Four additional Realtors® were also honored as C.A.R. Honorary Members-for-Life, for at least 25 continuous years of membership at C.A.R.—James J. Radon, of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices, Lois Derry of Coldwell Banker, Robert Myers of Robert Myers Realty, Inc., and William Ni of Coldwell Banker.
Recently retired PFAR Director, Sid Karsh also received PFAR’s 2020 Honorary Member-for-Life.
