The ancient art of paper marbling will come alive at Remainders Creative Reuse this Friday evening, where swirling patterns dance across water before being captured on paper.

Elizabeth Robinson, a multidisciplinary artist with more than 20 years of professional experience, will guide participants through the marbling process on Friday, August 1, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the upstairs Creative Space located at 787 E. Washington Blvd. in Pasadena.

“Each print produced is a one-of-a-kind monotype,” Robinson said, highlighting the unique nature of the art form where no two pieces can ever be exactly alike.

Robinson works as a textile designer, printmaker, illustrator and photographer. “I love the vibrant arts and culture of Los Angeles,” she said, reflecting her connection to the local creative community.

The workshop carries a $30 fee, which includes all necessary tools and materials.

Access to the Creative Space is via exterior stairs on the east side of the building, and late arrivals will be refused entry.

Remainders Creative Reuse maintains a strict cancellation policy.

Refunds require at least 48 hours’ email notice and incur a 20 percent cancellation fee.

No refunds will be issued within 48 hours of the class start time.

“Paper Marbling” will run on Friday, August 1 at 6:00 p.m. Remainders Creative Reuse, 787 East Washington Blvd., Suite 101, in Pasadena. For more call (626) 529-5014 or visit https://remainderspas.org/shop-classes/p/marbling-393k2-t7kcn-re7zl-75ah4-g3ftz-683am-zzjep. Tickets: $30.
