After a years-long hiatus, the Pasadena Follies come roaring back in 20’s style in a new Pasadena century.

The Shakespeare Club of Pasadena is the new host of this community-based variety show with all proceeds benefiting the philanthropic, community service, cultural, social, and outreach missions of the Club. Pasadena Follies will be presented in the Club’s beautiful and apropos 1928 Villa clubhouse located at 171 S. Grand Avenue on Sunday, November 21, 2021.

The Pasadena Follies is a one-of-a-kind comedy/variety show on contemporary topics featuring a number of local luminaries — including Mayor Victor Gordo. The entertaining script and lyrics were written by Jerram Swartz, who has a long list of film and television credits. Musical Direction is by the Screen Actors Guild’s longest serving President, Barry Gordon, whose musical and acting career began in childhood.

To re-introduce Pasadena Follies to the community, the ticket price is set at a mere $50. When the matinee performance quickly sold out, an evening show was added and tickets are now available for the 7 p.m. performance.

Cast and crew are fully vaccinated for health and safety. The Los Angeles County Health Department restrictions at the time of the performance will be observed. Consequently, masks are required.

A ticket reservation is required by contacting the Shakespeare Club at www.shakespeare423@gmail.com.
