Are you concerned about rabies in your community and interested in learning more about this infectious disease? Then a webinar hosted by Pasadena Humane on Wednesday, September 23, is right for you.

For about an hour Wednesday starting at noon Dr. Mellissa Jae, Public Health Veterinarian for the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, will share information and facts about rabies as well as insightful information to keep you and your pets happy and safe.

Although there aren’t any community outbreaks of rabies in Pasadena, it’s never a bad idea to learn more about the dangerous virus so that you and your family can stay protected.

The last time a rabid bat was found in Pasadena was in October 2016, when authorities found a bat hanging on the exterior wall of a business in the City.

In compliance with state law, the city of Pasadena, through Pasadena Humane, has maintained animal-control shelter systems and rabies-control programs, along with providing services for adoption, veterinary care, pickup, and impounding of stray animals and other services, since 1904.
