Learn more about chatbots with Research Methods and Data Science (RMDS)’s virtual course “Everything About Chatbots: A Hands on Journey,” starting at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 27.

The webinar continues every Wednesday up to Feb. 24.

For those who are not familiar with the term, a chatbot is an artificial intelligence (AI) software that can simulate a conversation — a chat — with a user in natural language through messaging applications, websites, mobile apps, or through the telephone.

A chatbot is often described as one of the most advanced and promising expressions of interaction between humans and machines. From a technological point of view, a chatbot only represents the natural evolution of a question-answering system leveraging Natural Language Processing (NLP). Formulating responses to questions in natural language is one of the most typical examples of NLP applied in end-use applications in various enterprises.

This weekly two-hour hands-on practical training starting on Wednesday will cover everything about chatbots and question-answering systems in depth.

By the end of the five sessions, participants are expected to have gained a comprehensive understanding of Natural Language Processing, should be able to develop their own functional chatbots step by step, and should have experiences the state-of-the-art industry scale tools and packages, including Rasa, an open-source machine learning framework for building AI assistants and chatbots; TensorFlow, a free and open-source software library for machine learning; and BERT (Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers), among other AI and chatbot platforms.

Research Methods and Data Science (RMDS) is sponsoring the webinar in partnership with Global RDMS, an ecosystem service provider that empowers data science professionals and businesses worldwide to achieve successful, data-driven results.

RDMS is a nonprofit organization that serves researchers and data scientists worldwide who are interested in next-generation computing tools for research methods and data science. The association provides certification training and special RMDS Lab frameworks specially developed for a new era of big data and AI. It manages a network of over 35,000 data science professionals, with its LinkedIn group listed among the “Top 10” for data science professionals.

The instructor for this online course is Anuj Saini, a solutions architect working with Sapient with 12 years of experience in the area of data science. Saini holds a master’s degree in computer applications from J.C. Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, in Faridabad, India, and has worked in various domains like finance, banking, the food industry and e-commerce. His interest areas include building intelligent search engines, text mining, and statistical and predictive models.

At Sapient, Saini helps clients with building recommender systems, personalization, pattern recognition, web crawling, building competitive intelligence systems, and fraud detection.

Saini has extensive experience in machine learning using Python and R (these are both open-source programming languages with a large community) for building predictive models and data analysis. He has delivered many client projects using machine learning and statistical based modeling.

Cost of the five-day webinar is $100 per person.
