Rose Bowl to Host Turkey Trot Both In Person and Virtually

STAFF REPORT
Published on Nov 5, 2021

The Rose Bowl is hosting its fourth Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving Day to raise funds to support the preservation and improvement of the iconic stadium, organizers said.

“Runners, walkers, skippers, and jumpers alike can continue the tradition by running through Brookside Golf Course or from the comfort and safety of their favorite path,” Rose Bowl representatives said in a written statement.

“Trot before you gobble and help preserve, protect, and enhance the Rose Bowl Stadium!” the statement said. “All entry fees for 2021 will be 100% tax-deductible and will go directly to the Rose Bowl Legacy Foundation’s America’s Stadium Needs America Campaign.”

In addition to joining the 5K in person, guests may also attend the event in a virtual format, organizers said.

“This can be done from anywhere in the world. This could be your neighborhood park, a local running trail, bike path, quiet neighborhood street or wherever walking and running is safely permitted,” the statement said. “All participants are encouraged to use the Race Joy app to track their official time and automatically send in their finish time as well as listen to some special messages from Rose Bowl Stadium legends during your trot.”

All participants will receive a medal, race bib and pin commemorating the Rose Bowl’s centennial this year.

Trotters were urged to post photos of their trots on social media, tagging @rosebowlstadium and @rosebowllegacy and using hashtag #RoseBowlTurkeyTrot.
