The Boys & Girls Club of Pasadena (BGCP) hosted its 15th Annual Black Tie & Burgers gala on Saturday, October 7th. This remarkable evening, aptly themed “An Evening with Stars of the Club,” was held at a private residence nestled in Pasadena’s Caltech area.

As the sun set, attendees were enveloped in the enchanting performances by the very stars of the BGCP on a stage in front of 275 guests. These talented Club members, ranging in age and experience, were eager to dazzle with a showcase that was a testament to the latent talent and potential nurtured within the walls of the Club. Their preparation and dedication, as hinted by Melina Montoya, Black Tie & Burgers Event Chair, reinforced the belief that “Pasadena definitely has got talent!”

“We had an amazing evening. From Mr. Crews’ inspiring words, to the kids’ passion-filled performances, to the festive music and atmosphere – our event was a night to remember for years to come!” said Melina Montoya, Black Tie & Burgers Event Chair.

As the name suggests, the gala wasn’t the conventional black-tie event. In a delightful twist, delicious hamburgers, catered by The Habit, were served. As glasses clinked and laughter filled the air, guests participated in riveting auctions, groovy music, and spirited dancing.

This year, Terry Crews, host of America’s Got Talent and actor, attended and spoke to guests. Crews, an author, television host, and actor who has starred in shows and movies including White Chicks, Everybody Hates Chris, and Brooklyn Nine-Nine, is a current Pasadena resident and proponent of breaking the mental health stigma.

Black Tie & Burgers is BGCP’s biggest fundraiser to raise critical funds needed to enable children and youth in the community to reach their full potential. For more information about the Boys and Girls Club Pasadena and their programs visit www.bgcpasadena.org.
