Students Can Learn To Enjoy College Without Sacrificing Their Health During Vroman’s Online Discussion Event

Published on Jun 2, 2021

Vroman’s Live, Vroman’s Bookstore’s live online discussion featuring authors and their works, will be hosting Jill and Dave Henry on Monday, June 7, as they present “The Greatest College Health Guide You Never Knew You Needed.”

Vroman’s Live is on Crowdcast at 6 p.m.

“The Greatest College Health Guide You Never Knew You Needed” is a comprehensive field guide, where the Henrys, both high school coaches, break down the facts and deliver practical advice and strategies for managing physical and mental health on campus.

In addition to helpful interactive graphics, the coaches share their relatable true stories — ranging from the ridiculous to the serious — to discuss the five biggest health obstacles students face in college.

The book also features raw and personal advice gathered from current students on college campuses across the country. It goes beyond being a basic crash course on how to be healthy and covers everything from crucial time-management skills to the complex sensitivity of self-doubt, sexual assault and depression.

Published by Skyhorse Publishing, “The Greatest College Health Guide You Never Knew You Needed” is a complete road map for how students can take care of their minds and bodies and crush the next four years. It also provides a foundation that they can carry with them for the rest of their lives.

The authors have been coaching, entertaining, and educating teens in Los Angeles for more than 20 years combined. With every graduating class, they’ve fielded their student-athletes’ concerns about the transition to college, particularly about the dreaded “freshman 15,” a common term used to describe the weight that many incoming freshmen tend to gain during their first year in college.

Jill is an award-winning statistics teacher, and Dave is an Emmy-nominated editor and television producer. With the book, they have created a resource to help young adults enjoy college without sacrificing their health.
