Subway has been in the news a lot lately, and this morning the news is pretty good.
Subway® restaurants are giving away one million six-inch subs on July 13 to guests who visit their local participating Subway and ask for the new Turkey Cali Fresh sub.
It happens only from 10 a.m. to noon.
The first 50 guests at participating restaurants to come in and ask for a free sub will receive one free 6” Turkey Cali Fresh sub.
“Subway has been serving freshly made, customizable and better-for-you sandwiches for more than 50 years, and we wanted to give our guests more new and improved flavors,” said Trevor Haynes, President, North America at Subway. “Our new culinary team is delivering monumental updates to the entire core menu. The Eat Fresh Refresh makes Subway better than ever with freshly made, craveable and delicious sandwiches to excite new and returning guests.”
The Turkey Cali Fresh sandwich features many of the ubiquitous restaurant chain’s signature new ingredients like smashed avocado, BelGioiso® fresh mozzarella, and new deli-sliced thin turkey, all on Subway’s new Hearty Multigrain bread. Extras are additional.
As Subway upgrades its menu, calling it the “Eat Fresh Refresh™,” it’s the largest menu change in the brand’s history, making improvements to almost every core menu item —including 11 new and improved ingredients, six all-new or returning sandwiches, and four revamped signature sandwiches—that elevate the guest experience, according to a company announcement.
The new menu includes two new fresh-baked breads – Artisan Italian and Hearty Multigrain – and four new sandwiches – Turkey Cali Fresh, Steak Cali Fresh, Subway Club, and All-American Club.
In development for over two years, according to company officials, the new Artisan Italian Bread is baked for longer at a higher temperature for a crispier crust and a softer center, while the new Hearty Multigrain Bread is made with Amber soft grain and three types of seeds, “showcasing its naturally sweet flavor.”

New Steak Cali Fresh: Steak, hickory-smoked bacon, smashed avocado, and BelGioioso Fresh Mozzarella cheese topped with spinach, red onion, tomatoes and mayo, served on freshly baked Hearty Multigrain bread.

New Subway Club: Oven roasted turkey, black forest ham, roast beef, lettuce, tomato and red onions on Hearty Multigrain Bread.

New All-American Club: Oven roasted turkey, black forest ham and hickory-smoked bacon paired with American cheese, lettuce, tomatoes and red onions, served on toasted Artisan Italian bread.

Returning Rotisserie-Style Chicken: Customers can choose from the array of new ingredients, along with old favorites, to complete their Rotisserie-Style Chicken sandwiches.

Returning Roast Beef: Fan-favorite roast beef returns this fall with a better choice Angus roast beef.
The new menu event is happening at all participating Subway stores. Most Subway restaurants are locally owned and operated, but in Pasadena, there is likely one very near you right at this moment.
