Summer Flute Camp Welcomes Musicians Ages 12 Through Adult at Pasadena Conservatory

Three-day intensive program combines fundamentals with ensemble playing for intergenerational musical experience

Musicians from middle school through retirement age can hone their skills together at the Pasadena Conservatory of Music’s three-day flute camp this summer, where the curriculum spans fundamental breathing techniques to advanced chamber music performance.

The program runs Monday to Wednesday, August 4-6, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. daily, welcoming participants ages 12 through adult for comprehensive flute instruction and ensemble playing.

Johanna Borenstein, a Pasadena Conservatory of Music faculty member, serves as lead instructor.

The program includes flute fundamentals covering breathing, tone production, technique, articulation and interval training, along with etude studies, practice techniques, chamber music and flute choir participation.

Seung Jeon will provide repair and maintenance instruction, giving participants specialized knowledge in instrument care.

Tuition is $375 per participant.

The camp takes place at the Pasadena Conservatory of Music, 100 N. Hill Ave., in Pasadena 91106.
