As the summer heat wave continues to grip Pasadena, the Pasadena Ice Skating Center has emerged as a go-to destination for those looking to beat the heat and enjoy a cool and exhilarating experience on the ice.

General Manager Randy Winship said the Center has adapted to provide a refreshing experience for its patrons.

“The Pasadena Ice Skating Center is always the ‘coolest place’ in Pasadena,’” he said. “We have public sessions seven days a week, all year ’round.”

“We have been busy all summer with kids on school holidays,” he explained, adding the Center has become a popular choice for families looking for fun and refreshing activities during the hot season.

The Ice Skating Center offers all kinds of programs for skaters of all levels. Winship said the weekly operation schedule is planned months in advance.

The Center is open an average of 20+ hours a day, Winship said.

Over the past year and a half, the Center’s skating school group classes have set all-time records of over 1,000 skaters per week for participation in all levels and ages of students, he said.

Winship said they’ve also retired their older rental skates and purchased over 200 new pairs of skates to prepare for the busier fall/winter season.

To keep the facility in top shape, staff at the Ice Skating Center regularly conducts maintenance on their rink equipment, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable skating experience for their visitors. The Center’s equipment include a Zamboni machine, an ice edger, compressors, a cooling tower and others.

The Ice Skating Center also offers a wide range of hockey and figure-skating programs such as youth hockey, adult in-house leagues, stick time, pick-up and hockey coach lesson sessions, freestyle sessions, group classes, and private lessons for beginners to advanced levels.

That’s aside from hosting birthday parties, field trips, and fundraisers, Winship added.

The Pasadena Ice Skating Center is located at 300 E Green Street in downtown Pasadena. For more call (626) 578-0800 or visit the Center online by clicking here.
