Theatrical Panel Puts Spotlight on “Alice in Wonderland”

Published on Jun 24, 2020

Fridays @ Five, A Noise Within’s weekly virtual panel that examines some of the plays the Pasadena-based theater has been presenting over the years, will feature the cast of “Alice in Wonderland” on Friday, June 26, starting at 5 p.m.

As they talk about the show, the artists show the online audience how they approach their craft as well as Lewis Carroll’s topsy-turvy world.

Fridays @ Five brings virtual content from your favorite A Noise Within artists every Friday at 5 p.m. to kick off your weekend. When your work-from-home is finally done, Geoff Elliott and Julia Rodriguez-Elliott, A Noise Within’s producing artistic directors, lead a Q&A with the theater’s performers and creative staff so you don’t feel too much of the theatrical void during this pandemic.

A Noise Within said they plan to bring “Alice in Wonderland” to the community around Fall 2021, along with “Radio Golf” and “Sweeney Todd.”

All Fall 2020 productions are postponed to Fall 2021, Geoff and Julia Elliot said in a post on the theater’s website.

“We will open our current Spring 2021 lineup of ‘Metamorphoses,’ ‘An Iliad,’ and ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ in February as scheduled, pending the approval of public health guidelines,” they wrote. “We thank you for your patience and support during this process. We have made the decision to move to a model of ‘responsive producing’ of our season, as it does not seem likely that we will be able to gather in the same space either as artists to rehearse a play or with you, our audience, in the fall.”

During past Fridays @ Five show, the theater features the cast of “The Winter’s Tale,” a chat with A Noise Within resident artists, as well as “Re-imagining Classics,” where Cultural Programming Director Jonathan Muñoz-Proulx and ANW artists talked about what goes into adapting classics for modern and diverse audiences.
