Warner Bros. dominated the box office this weekend, claiming the top two films in North America — the first one a sequel, the latter a prequel, according to industry estimates released Sunday.

“Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom” opened with $28.1 million, while “Wonka” pulled in $17.7 million in its second week,  Comscore reported.

In its opening weekend, “Migration,” from Illumination — the studio behind the Minions — earned $12.3 million for third place.

The romantic comedy “Anyone But You” opened with $6.2 million Friday through Sunday to finish fourth, followed by “Salaar Part 1 – Ceasefire,” which opened with almost $5.5 million while appearing in only about 800 theaters.

Rounding out the top 10 domestic releases were “The Iron Claw” ($5.1 million), “The Boy and the Heron” ($3.154 million), “Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes” ($3.15 million), “Godzilla Minus One” ($2.74 million) and “Dunki” ($2.71 million).

This weekend’s overall three-day box office haul was estimated at $94.6 million. The year-to-date total is $8.725 billion — an increase of 21% over the figure at this time last year, according to Comscore.
