“You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown” Goes Outdoors On Sunday

Published on Sep 2, 2021

Sierra Madre Playhouse presents the final performance this weekend of the classic musical “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown,” on Sunday, September 5,  at 7 p.m. at the Sierra Madre Memorial Park, located at 222 W. Sierra Madre Blvd. in Sierra Madre.

This will be an outdoor, socially distanced presentation co-presented by the City of Sierra Madre. All COVID-19 protocols in effect at the time of opening will be followed, a Sierra Madre Playhouse statement said.

“You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown” is based on the “Peanuts” comic strip created by Charles M. Schulz. Charlie Brown and the entire Peanuts gang explore life’s great questions as they play baseball, struggle with homework, sing songs, swoon over their crushes, and celebrate the joy of friendship.

The book, music and lyrics for the play are written by Clark Gesner, with additional music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa, and additional dialogue by Michael Mayer. Produced and directed by Christian Lebano, the play is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of Tams-Witmark LLC.

Tickets are between $60 and $160. A limited number of lawn chairs will be available to rent separately.
