Assemblymember Chris Holden Praises California’s Balanced 2016-17 Budget, $1 Million Funding for the Pasadena Playhouse

Wednesday, the California State Legislature passed the final Fiscal Year 2016-17 Budget to maintain California’s growing economy while investing in California families. Assemblymember Chris Holden released the following statement upon passage of the Legislature’s final budget package:

“Thanks to today’s vote, Californians will continue to have a balanced budget that strives to work for all Californians. With a functioning rainy day fund, the latest budget gives us an opportunity to make investments to fight poverty and homelessness, improve early education, expand access to higher education and protect our environment.

I am also excited that we were able secure one million dollars to fund the renovation for the Pasadena Playhouse, the official State Theater of California, in advance of its 100th Anniversary.

Once again, the California State Legislature has shown it can craft a responsible budget that builds a strong and prosperous California, and I look forward to Governor Brown’s signature.”
