Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Community: Together In Mission 2014

A tremendous “thank you” from the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Community hearts, to all the families who so generously donated to the 2013 Together In Mission campaign. The church extends its congratulations, for reaching the goal of $74,657 and even passed it! The additional funds will be returned to the parish for use in its ministries and are not subject to Archdiocese assessment which is a big advantage for the church. The church is blessed to have 350 families donate to this wonderful outreach within the Archdiocese.

The theme of the Together In Mission campaign for 2014 is “love your neighbor.” It seems to totally embrace the teachings of Pope Francis. Each one of its parishioners can simply say yes to help its neighboring parishes and schools in this way. Everyone can donate, the size of the donation is not the most important thing. It shows that everyone do care about helping others. Due to various financial circumstances, the church had 200 fewer families participate these past two years. This year, everyone is praying that more families feel God calling them to participate, and do it with their heart.

For the parishioners that generously donated last year to the Together In Mission campaign, they will receive a letter asking that they donate again this year. Please respond with a generous pledge to support the ministries, programs and services provided by the parishes and schools that receive these funds. Kindly indicate Assumption Church as your parish on this pledge form. Those parishioners who have not donated in the past will have a wonderful opportunity to do so on the weekend of February 22nd and 23rd when the church will have its in-pew solicitation. Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary will give a heartfelt welcome to one of its own parishioners, Meg Samaniego, who is the Principal at St. Bernard’s School in Glassell Park, which is dependent on these funds to provide children with a Catholic education.

Let’s make it as everyone’s goal here at Assumption to increase each of the parishioner’s participation rate as a way of showing that each one is truly loving and generous in this parish. May God bless everyone and once again the church extends its heartfelt thanks!
