In response to growing uncertainty about the completion of the state’s High Speed Rail (HSR) project, Supervisor Kathryn Barger introduced a motion at the Metro Board to reaffirm the importance of rail connectivity through Palmdale, and to advance critical rail projects along the Antelope Valley Metrolink line and elsewhere in the Los Angeles Region.
Directors Ara Najarian and Paul Krekorian joined Supervisor Barger on the motion, which also directs Metro to coordinate with Metrolink and state agencies to identify potential regional impacts resulting from changes in the High Speed Rail project, and to identify specific projects for advancement.
The motion will be heard by the full Metro Board on Thursday.
