Become an Intern with Pasadena Heritage

Pasadena Heritage is proud to once again participate in the Getty Foundation’s Multicultural Undergraduate Internship program. This position is funded by a grant from the Getty Foundation, which is intended for outstanding students who are members of groups underrepresented in museum and visual arts organizations.

Applicants must be of a group underrepresented in museums and visual arts organizations, including, but not limited to, individuals of African American, Asian, Latino/Hispanic, Native American, or Pacific Islander descent, and must meet the following additional criteria: (1) a currently enrolled undergraduate student who has completed at least one semester of college by June 2017 (those who will complete their degree by September 1, 2017 also qualify); (2) must be a resident or attend college in Los Angeles County; (3) be a United States citizen or permanent resident.

Pasadena Heritage is currently seeking applicants for an Education Intern, who will assist with the planning, research, and implementation of the organization’s educational programming, including our annual Craftsman Weekend. Projects include assisting the Education Director with the research of individual houses and historic neighborhoods, writing detailed histories and architectural descriptions for use by docents, compiling information for bus and walking tours, and assisting with the logistical details of all of the educational programs. The intern will also assist with Pasadena Heritage’s summer programming and with updating the organization’s architectural files. Excellent organization and communication skills are a must. This is a full-time, ten-week position from June – August, 2017 with a stipend of $5,000.
