Citizen Arrests Indecent Exposure Suspect

The victim of an indecent exposure incident at work several weeks ago in the 1400 block of North Lake Avenue saw the suspect again Wednesday about 10:40 p.m. near her place of work and called police.

Arriving officers detained the suspect and the victim positively identified him as the alleged perpetrator, Pasadena police Lt. John Mercado said.

Because the original incident occurred earlier and the illegal act alleged is a misdemeanor, it was necessary for the citizen to place the suspect “under private person’s arrest,” explained Mercado.

Arrested was 58-year-old Pasadena resident Theodore Edward Esquivil, Mercado said.
