Descanso Gardens Announces New Partnership with The Kitchen For Exploring Foods

Descanso Gardens is excited to announce a new partnership with well-known Pasadena catering company, The Kitchen For Exploring Foods. In a move to align its cuisine with Descanso’s focus on being a nature-driven, urban retreat, The Kitchen will launch new dining options at the Gardens in 2020.

“The Kitchen is known for celebrating and appreciating the seasons – much like Descanso,” said Juliann Rooke, Executive Director. “I think this partnership will be great for our members and visitors when they come to enjoy the Gardens.”

The Kitchen for Exploring Foods was founded by Peggy Dark in 1984. Since that time, it has emerged as one of the premier boutique catering firms in Southern California with a devoted following among the region’s lovers of great food. Bountiful and beautifully displayed food along with a welcoming and friendly staff are just two of the attributes that the Kitchen is known for. As the seasons change, their menus follow, creating a memorable event, every time. They have already begun catering special events at the venue.

Maple, the current restaurant at Descanso, will serve its last brunch on Nov. 16. Dinner will be served in Maple during Enchanted Forest of Light, which runs Nov. 17- Jan. 5. (Reservations are available on OpenTable.) Café Descanso will remain open. The new dining concept is expected to open in early 2020.

“We look forward to a new relationship with The Kitchen,” added Rooke. “We love the idea of trying a new direction that aligns so closely with our future vision for Descanso Gardens. We’re excited to announce new menus and concepts in early 2020.”
