Activists and police will come together in Pasadena on Friday, July 6 for a discussion on police use of force.

The forum, hosted by the Progressive Discussion Group, will be held at 9 a.m. at the Du-Par’s Restaurant and Bakery, 214 S. Lake Ave.

Guests will include Pasadena police Commander Eduardo Calatayud and Southern California ACLU Foundation Staff Attorney Mohammad Tajsar.

Tajsar will speak in favor of making changes to the existing policy. Calatayud is scheduled to engage the discussion group, listen to the group’s ideas on the use of force and to their recommendations, and to answer questions about the current use of force review process.

The Progressive Discussion Group meets on the first and third Friday of each month at Du-Par’s to discuss designated topics of social relevance. All are welcome to join.

There is no cost. DuPar’s issues separate checks to attendees, so you can enjoy coffee, breakfast, or just thoughtful discussion of current issues.
