Dunkin’ Has a Delicious New Something Called Donut Fries

Dunkin’ Donuts store across the United States – including the Pasadena location – will be bringing new Donut Fries to guests just ahead of the Fourth of July holiday.

A Dunkin’ Donuts statement Wednesday said Donut Fries – individual pieces of “delicious, buttery croissant style donut dough that are tossed in cinnamon sugar and served warm with just the right amount of crisp” – will be available for a limited time at participating Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants beginning on Monday, July 2.

In Pasadena, Dunkin’ Donuts opened its first rebranded location – cutting out “Donuts” from the store name and just going with “Dunkin’” – in July last year. The store also became the first San Gabriel Valley location.

The brand’s newest snack serves a “sweet spin on classic fries, creating a fun, easy-to-eat way to enjoy the delight of donuts while on the go any time of day,” the press release said. Perfect for sharing, five Donut Fries come with each order, served at a special price of $2.

Earlier this year, Dunkin’ Donuts tested Donut Fries at a small number of locations in the Boston and Providence markets.

“As America’s donut leader, we put our passion and creativity towards finding fun and unexpected ways to please and surprise donut fans,” Tony Weisman, Dunkin’ Donuts chief marketing officer, said. “There was a strong consumer response towards bringing Donut Fries to all Americans during the initial test, and we are excited to make this unique donut treat available nationwide this summer.”

Along with Donut Fries, Dunkin’ is launching two new donuts and a delicious new Cold Brew flavor to help guests enjoy the joy of summer.

Its Brown Sugar Cold Brew choice offers sweetness with no artificial flavors, adding naturally flavored brown sugar syrup to the brand’s energizing and refreshing Cold Brew coffee. Cold Brew is crafted by hand in small batches, prepared by steeping a special blend of coffee in cold water for 12 hours. The longer process extracts a uniquely distinctive, inherently sweeter flavor from the beans reminiscent of dark chocolate, the press release said.

The two new donuts are Chocolate Coconutty Donut, a creamy, indulgent summer treat with coconut crème filling and real coconut flakes frosted with chocolate icing and sprinkled with crumbled shortbread cookie pieces; and Shark Bite Donut, which features white icing and special shark-shaped sprinkles.

Dunkin’ is at The Shops on Lake Avenue, located at 275 S. Lake Avenue in Pasadena.
