As many as five armed suspects broke into a Brigden Ranch neighborhood Pasadena home Sunday night and terrorized two elderly women before stealing cash and jewelry, ransacking the home and injuring one of the women, police said.
The unusual home invasion robbery took place at 9:26 p.m. in the usually quiet 2000 block of Brigden Road, Lieutenant Max Dahlstein said.
The suspects may have gained entry through a back window, he said.
The couple were apparently so shaken they were unable to provide much of a description to police except to say that more than one suspect was armed with a handgun.
The man, who is 86 years old, suffered head injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Her companion, age 79, was uninjured.
Police are unsure of the exact amount of the loss.
