At Foothill Family, purpose and success rely on family working together, thriving together. Foothill Family is proud to announce its status as one of only five social service agencies in Los Angeles County to earn a position above the national mean for satisfaction and above the LA County average for the quality of their delivery of Wraparound care.

Outcomes of the 2016 Wraparound Fidelity Index revealed that out of 33 agencies in Los Angeles County, Foothill Family Wraparound ranked as follows for their success and adherence to Wraparound principles:

– First in Effectiveness, Strengths-Based
– Second in Overall Fidelity, Community-Based
– Third in Satisfaction, Needs-Based
– Fourth in Outcomes

“We are so proud of our Wraparound team and the phenomenal work that they do for, and with, our families,” said Steve Allen, Foothill Family Chief Executive Officer. “Wraparound is an incredibly sensitive, collaborative process and having the right people in place who are dedicated, patient, and passionate about their work is crucial to the success of the clients and the program.”

Foothill Family Wraparound is an intensive, research-based, individualized care-coordination process for youth with complex needs. A nationally established approach that is family-centered, strengths-based, and needs-driven, Wraparound is designed to provide families and their children who have multifaceted, sustained challenges with the resources and tools to stay together. Advocating for family involvement, accountability, and empowerment, the principal goal of Wraparound is for the child to remain in their permanent home surrounded by familial support and community services.

Now implemented in nearly every state in America, Wraparound standards and metrics are essential to the integrity of the approach, implementation, and outcomes of the process. As a result, a Wraparound Fidelity Assessment System (WFAS), established by the Wraparound Evaluation and Research Team (WERT), is in place to measure success and best practices of partner agencies around the country.

Foothill Family was founded in 1926 and provides a range of community-based mental health and social services to at-risk populations in the San Gabriel and Pomona Valleys, Glendale, and Burbank. Its mission, to build brighter futures for children and families, has helped Foothill Family earn a reputation for providing high-quality services aimed at empowering families and strengthening communities. Programs include mental health and school-based counseling for children, child abuse prevention and treatment, domestic violence prevention and treatment, early child development programs, services for pregnant teens and their babies, family counseling, and youth development. Last year, more than 23,000 children and their families benefited from Foothill Family’s life-changing programs.
