For Second Time in Month, Pasadena Fire Chief Orders Red Flag Alert with Parking Restrictions

Pasadena Fire Chief Bertral Washington has directed the activation of Red Flag Parking Restrictions within the City of Pasadena effective at 8:00 a.m. on Friday, October 25 and will be in effect until further notice.

A Red Flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions are expected. This in combination with dry fuels could create extreme fire danger and/or fire behavior.

In order to allow for improved Fire Department access and resident evacuation, parking is restricted on posted narrow and/or winding roads within Pasadena’s urban-wildland interface areas.

Extra fire patrols have been added to Pasadena’s Foothill areas.

City spokesperson Lisa Derderian reminded residents to always be prepared for fire hazards.

“We have no winds at the moment, but due to the very dry humidity and all the fires happening in the areas around us we’re closely monitoring the situation and assisting with the other fires,” Derderian said earlier.

Red Flag warning sign locations include:

1. Northbound Altadena Dr. Near Veranda Ave.
2. NE Corner Of New York Dr. And Sierra Madre Villa Ave.
