Gov. Jerry Brown has appointed a Pasadena resident to the California Water Commission, his office announced Monday.
Catherine Keig, 60, served as Exposition Park manager at the California Science Center in Los Angeles in 2014, and as director of Southern California activities in the Office of the California State President pro Tempore from 1992 to 2011.
A Democrat, Keig served in several positions in the state Senate from 1981 through 1992, including as Communications Director of the Senate Rules Committee, director of the Senate Democratic Caucus and as a Senate floor analyst.
Her appointment as Commissioner requires Senate confirmation, according to the announcement from Gov. Brown’s office.
Keig will receive compensation of $100 per diem.
