Hiker, 5 Hours Overdue, Located By Rescue Teams in Eaton Canyon

Today at 4:15 p.m. Altadena Mountain Rescue Team was activated for the search of an overdue male hiker in the area of Eaton Canyon in the Angeles National Forest. The hiker was five hours overdue from a two hour hike. The hiker’s girlfriend became concerned and notified the Altadena Station of her missing boyfriend.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Air 21 assisted in searching for the hiker. The hiker was located while he was hiking out of Eaton Canyon by Altadena Mountain Rescue Team members. It was the hikers first time hiking in the area and he became lost on a trail that was difficult to follow after the recent rain storm.

The hiker, 31 y/o male residing in Los Angeles sustained several scratches on his arms and legs due to crossing an unmaintained trail. The hiker left Eaton Canyon at 6:00 p.m. in the evening after hiking about 7 miles.
