Pasadena Jewish Temple and Center Welcomes New Rabbi

The 94-year “young” Pasadena Jewish Temple & Center (PJTC) is welcoming Rabbi Noam Raucher as their new Senior Rabbi. Rabbi Raucher had been serving as the Associate Rabbi of Temple Israel in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Rabbi Raucher said he loves being a rabbi and the meaningful work of the rabbinate.

His self-written professional credo states: “I will live each and every day guided by a covenant of love with my Teacher. Each day I give thanks for the opportunity to serve the Jewish people, my fellow citizens of the world, and God. In service to them I will operate as a light of the Jewish tradition perpetuating: love, justice, hope, and wisdom. I will value people over programs, and relationships over numbers. I will always strive to sanctify life and treat all of creation as holy.”

Rabbi Raucher is originally from Hamden, CT and grew up in a home of Jewish educators and leaders. He graduated from Hofstra University in 2002 with honors in Judaic Studies and Psychology, and eventually moved back to California to attend the Ziegler School of Rabbinic Studies, and was ordained in 2011.

The Rabbi is the son of Gail and Steve Raucher; sibling to Ari (Carly), Michal (Yoni), and Aviva Raucher; married to wife Tamar; and father to children Judah and Eli.

In his spare time Rabbi Raucher can be found enjoying his family and two dogs: Dixie and Lucy, studying, hiking, reading, running, eating ice cream, and searching for the best fish tacos in town.
