The suspect was apprehended in the 200 block of MacDonald Street without incident.

The suspect entered the store with a bandana covering his face and armed with a handgun. He approached victim and demanded cash from the register. The victim walked away from the register area and began throwing items at the suspect. The suspect fired a single shot from his handgun in the direction of the victim and exited the store. As he fled, the suspect pointed his handgun at another victim (#2). The suspect fled on foot north on Lincoln Avenue. Victims entered their vehicles and chased after the suspect. At some point during the chase, the suspect turned toward the victims and fired at least one gunshot at them. The suspect was last seen in the vicinity of MacDonald Street between Mentone Avenue and Glen Avenue.

The area was quickly contained and Patrol officers, the Canine Unit, and Special Enforcement Section (SES) officers responded to search for the suspect. The police department’s Air Operations, along with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Bloodhound Units, were also deployed during the search. The suspect was found in the 200 block of MacDonald Street where he voluntarily surrendered to officers. Detectives executed a search warrant at the location and evidence was recovered. The suspect was arrested for attempted murder and booked at the city jail.

An alert neighbor called the police and reported three males who jumped a fence on the victim’s property.
