Pasadena Power Launches New E-Newsletter to Provide More Communication With Public

Pasadena Water and Power has added a new communication tool to its community relations arsenal in the form of an e-newsletter that every customer can opt to receive by email.

PWP General Manager Phyllis Currie said the monthly newsletter, Watts Current, will make customers aware of enhancements in the city’s water and electricity infrastructure, and strengthen partnerships with other institutions and community organizations in Pasadena.

“It will also update you on rebates and incentives that will help you save money and energy- and water-efficient,” PWP said in announcement.

The e-newsletter intends to provide the Pasadena community with up-to-date info about PWP’s initiatives, projects, customer programs, rebates and other resources.

This early, PWP said, the newsletter has already to be a successful communication tool.

“PWP has received a number of follow-up inquiries from residents, as well as sign-ups for upcoming events and workshops that were highlighted in the newsletter.”

Watts Current’s inaugural issue included a drought update that also appears on the website of other city departments, and announced the City Council’s decision to move to Level 2 Water Supply Shortage Plan. Level 2 was approved on June 1 and took effect the day after.

The issue also included news about PWP’s high school senior scholarship winners and an introduction to its new programs and workshops.

Watts Current is now circulated among almost 30,000 recipients, who can also access PWP’s other online resources including rebate forms and event registration instructions.
