The 21st Annual Angel Gala “Studio 54” benefitting Cancer Support Community Pasadena (CSCP) was held on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at Noor located in the Paseo, Pasadena. The prestigious event was attended by 280 people. With the help of auctioneer, Chris Morphy, the evening raised $150,000 for the charity through over 100 silent auction packages, 11 live auction packages, sponsorships, ticket sales, and a paddle raise. Lead corporate sponsors were Huntington Memorial Hospital, RBC Wealth Management, Rusnak Maserati and Wells Fargo. Live Auction donors included Claud Beltran, Exclusive Resorts, The Funky Hippeez, Ellen and Harvey Knell, The Langham Hotel , Montana Sporting Club, Noor, Pasadena Police Department, Rusnak Maserati, Scarlet Tea Room & Fine Dining, The Terranea Resort, Three Sisters Catering, and a private home in Nantucket.

Angel Awards recipients Mr. and Mrs. Howard Raff and the National Charity League, Inc. Pasadena area chapter were honored for their generous contributions to Cancer Support Community. Dr. Lawrence Piro, President and CEO, The Angeles Clinic and Research Institute dedicated his poignant memoir to a 27-year-old patient who lost his battle with cancer last year. DJ Herick spun records during the reception and the guests danced the night away to disco tunes performed by “The Funky Hippeez”.

Funds raised by the Annual Angel Gala are a significant source of revenue for Cancer Support Community Pasadena, a non-profit corporation that touches more than 1,600 people in the greater Pasadena community annually. “The Angel Gala raises vital funds that enable Cancer Support Community Pasadena to provide free support for people facing cancer – because nobody should face cancer alone,” noted Clay Marquardt, Board President, Cancer Support Community Pasadena.
