Tony Barbone, Pasadena City College’s athletic director, will be honored as a new inductee to the San Gabriel Valley Hall of Fame. Barbone will be part of the festivities at the 21st SGV All-Star Baseball Game for high school seniors on Sunday, June 5 at Ben Hines Field at the University of La Verne. The game begins at 3:30 p.m.

The SGV honors former baseball coaches in its hall of fame. Barbone’s head coaching career spanned a quarter of a century. He spent 16 years as an 8-time conference champion coach at Azusa Pacific University after directing Azusa High to the CIF Southern Section 1-A title in 1983. He later was a minor league manager of the Vermont Expos in 1998-99. Barbone capped his baseball coaching run at Concordia University from 2004-2007.

Barbone is in his third year as PCC’s AD as he administrates the Lancers’ 16 intercollegiate teams.
