Phlunte’ Riddle Endorsed by Assemblymember Shirley Weber

Joining Assemblymember Chris Holden in endorsing Phlunte’ Riddle for State Senate is Assemblymember Shirley Weber, the Riddle campaign announced today.

“Phlunte’ will be a fierce advocate for our children and families,” said Assemblymember Weber. “From her experience in law enforcement, she understands the importance of investing in early childhood education and strengthening our schools as a path to safer communities. I am proud to endorse her for the State Senate.”

Dr. Shirley Weber, Chair of the Assembly Budget Committee, represents the 79th Assembly District. Prior to her service in the state legislature, she was a university professor, department chair, and President of the San Diego Unified School District Board of Trustees.

“I am honored to have received Assemblymember Shirley Weber’s endorsement,” Riddle said. “She and I share a passion for creating stronger schools and safer communities to build a stronger middle class. I am grateful for her support of my campaign for the State Senate.”

Riddle resides in Pasadena with her husband of 36 years and is the mother of three adult sons. Riddle spent nearly 29 years rising through the ranks of the Pasadena Police Department, breaking barriers as the first woman to be permanently assigned as a gang/street narcotics officer and the first African American female sergeant and lieutenant. She retired as a lieutenant, where she was the Public Information Officer & Adjutant to the Chief of Police.

Riddle is an adjunct professor at Golden West College and owns a consulting company, where she trains executives and helps solve communications challenges in organizations.

The 25th State Senate District encompasses the communities of Pasadena, Burbank, Glendale, Bradbury, Claremont, Duarte, Glendora, La Cañada-Flintridge, La Verne, Monrovia, San Dimas, San Marino, Sierra Madre, South Pasadena, Upland, Altadena, La Crescenta, Montrose, Atwater Village, and Sunland-Tujunga.
