Phyllis Zagano, PhD to Speak at Holy Family Church

Holy Family Church, Mount St. Mary’s College’s Ecclesia Program and Loyola Marymount University’s Center for Religion and Spirituality invites everyone to “An Evening Lecture and Discussion on Women In Ministry in the Catholic Church with Phyllis Zagano, PhD, Senior Research Associate -in-Residence and Adjunct Professor of Religion at Hofstra University on Monday, June 9, 2014, 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Holy Family Parish Hall (1527 Fremont Avenue, South Pasadena).

Dr. Zagano is the author or editor of sixteen books in religious studies, including Holy Saturday: An Argument for the Restoration of the Female Diaconate in the Catholic Church (Crossroad, 2000), winner of Catholic Press Association and College Theology Society Annual Book Awards and Women & Catholicism: Gender, Communion, and Authority (Macmillan, 2012), (Catholic Press Association Book Award).

Dr. Zagano’s most recent books include Women & Catholicism: Gender, Communion, Authority (Palgrave-Macmillan, 2011) and Women Deacons: Past, Present, Future (with Gary Macy and William T. Ditewig) (Paulist Press, 2012), Women in Ministry: Emerging Questions on the Diaconate (Paulist Press, 2012).
