Prep League Girls Volleyball: Allison Martinez Continues to Dominate for Westridge; Tigers Get Match and Season Sweep over Flintridge Prep

The first time Westridge met up with Flintridge Prep, it did so without star Allison Martinez.

She was busy representing the U.S. National Team in Puerto Rico, but the Tigers still swept the Rebels in La Canada a couple weeks back.

Martinez is not only back, she’s on a tear.

The Westridge junior had 19 kills and 2 aces in a 25-9, 25-7 and 25-12 rout of the visiting Rebels.

Westridge (13-2 overall, 6-1 in Prep League play) got a combined 13 kills from Eryn Boken and Makana Meyer.

“The girls came out aggressive with the goal of closing out in three straight on the highest note,” Westridge coach Otto Lacayo said. “Quincy Foster was particularly impressive, demonstrating leadership among other intangibles and kept her team focused through the match. The energy she provided was felt on all ends of the court.”

The Tigers aren’t scheduled again until Oct. 10 when they host last-place Firebaugh at 5.

Flintridge Prep (5-6, 3-3) will host Providence today at 3:30, and then travel to Palos Verdes Peninsula, in Prep League action versus Chadwick on Friday at 5.
