Public Invited to Police-Fire Awards Ceremony “Answering the Call of Duty” Today

The public is invited to join City officials and leaders of Pasadena’s Police and Fire departments to recognize brave citizens and Public Safety personnel for their exemplary service and dedication to our community by “Answering the Call of Duty” during a special awards ceremony, 1:00 – 3:00 p.m., Thursday, May 29, 2014, at the Ambassador Auditorium, 131 S. St. John Ave. Media coverage is encouraged.

This is the first joint recognition awards program by the City’s Police and Fire departments. “Answering the Call of Duty” is the theme for the event. Community Service awards will be presented by both departments, including recognition for taking personal risks in the apprehension of crime suspects, taking selfless actions to save a life, Chief’s Special Recognition, Lifesaving Star, Medals of Honor and employee awards for dedicated service to the City for milestone increments of 35, 30, 25, 20 and 10 years.
