Pasadena Police Lieutenant Jason Clawson has reported that the armed suspect that was believed to be barricaded in The Reyn Restaurant this morning has been arrested in Los Angeles by the Pasadena Police Department’s Fugitive Apprehension Unit.
Lieutenant Clawson said the suspect was armed with a .45 caliber handgun but was taken into custody without incident.
Lt. Pete Hettema said the suspect is 45-year-old Romualdo Cabrera of Los Angeles.
Today at 7:15 a.m., police were called to the restaurant, located in the 600 block of North Lake Avenue, after receiving a report that an employee armed with a handgun had locked himself in a bathroom. After nearly five hours of surrounding what they believed was the suspect inside the restaurant, they discovered that he had already fled.
There were no shots fired at any time and no known injuries.
Police secured the area and shut down traffic on North Lake Avenue between Orange Grove Blvd. and Villa Street during the incident.
Lieutenant Clawson said the suspect will be booked for being a felon in possession of a firearm.
