James Frawley, who served as fire chief for the City of South Pasadena for nearly two years, will be departing soon to take the same position for the City of Santa Cruz.
In a tri-city arrangement about a year ago, Frawley became the fire chief for the cities of South Pasadena, San Marino and San Gabriel.
Frawley’s appointment in Northern California comes at a time when other departures at South Pasadena City Hall were announced this week.
Assistant City Manager Hillary Strauss and Chief Deputy City Clerk Yvette Hall informed City Manager Sergio Gonzalez in recent days they also will be departing soon.
