The Perfect Spot for a Pint and a Bite

Some nights you just want a pint and a bite. Look no further than the newly opened Tap + Kitchen. This restaurant is the latest endeavor by Chef Claud Beltran and opened at the former Eatery on Allen. The menu is entirely new and the restaurant now has a long bar and fresh coat of paint.

“I want to get wine people to try beer,” said Beltran. “The beer world is as complicated and has as many diverse flavors as the wine world.”

This casual world brasserie focuses on beer and bites with weekly specials. Expect Fish Fry Fridays, Fried Chicken on Thursdays and Posole on Tuesdays. Look forward to a Cheese and Charcuterie plate perfect for sharing or an aptly named Crispy Grits of Wonder which comes with sweet and sour pickled beets and a parsley puree.

“It’s still the same cooking techniques and styles but the flavors are a little bolder – beer can withstand bold flavors,” said Beltran.

The beer menu includes four local taps, two imported taps and a selection of over twenty beers by the bottle. Breweries will include El Segundo, Craftsman and Eagle Rock Brewery. He adds that the beer menu will rotate and expand.

Chef Claud says that the Unibroue Blanche de Chambly is one is his favorite beers and pairs well with the Herb Brined Cornish Game Hen and the Moules Frites. He recommends the Modern Times Orderville Hazy IPA with the Queso Fundido or Duck Leg Taquitos.

Tap + Kitchen is located at 488 Allen Avenue. Call (626) 688-7256 or visit http://cctapandkitchen.com/index.html.
