Car Thief Driving Stolen Bentley Eludes Old Pasadena Manhunt

Published on Monday, July 6, 2015 | 9:25 pm

California Highway Patrol motorcycle officers spotted a stolen Bentley on the 210 Foothill Freeway late Monday and pursued it into an Old Pasadena parking structure, where the thief managed to elude a manhunt.

Pasadena Police Lt. John Luna said the CHP pursuit began on the eastbound 210 near the Lincoln Avenue offramp at about 8:00 p.m.  The luxury car was reported stolen earlier today in Pasadena.

The suspect exited the freeway and Pasadena patrol units and a police helicopter joined in the chase, Luna said.

In the area of Arroyo Parkway and Holly Street, witnesses told authorities the Bentley had sped into a parking structure.

Police and California Highway Patrol officers set up a containment area and began a careful search of the structure assisted by two police dogs, one from Pasadena and the second from South Pasadena, Luna said.

Although the Bentley was located, the suspect was not and remains at large. Police said only a scant description of the thief is available: a Latino in his 20’s or 30’s wearing a white T-shirt.

Anyone who has any information about the suspect should call Pasadena police at 626-744-4241.
