Two Women Arrested for Pasadena Arson

Two women have been recently been arrested for pouring flammable liquid onto a vehicle, setting it ablaze and totalling it, authorities said.

The arson, which occurred on March 19 near the I-210 Freeway, was the result of a personal dispute between the women and the owner of the car, said Lisa Derderian, Public Information Officer of the Pasadena Fire Department.

According to Derderian, the Fire Department and Police Department worked together to find the suspects, who were known to the victim. Both of the suspects were arrested this week — one turned herself in earlier and the other was apprehended in Los Angeles today.

“[The fire] could have easily spread to the adjacent structures and houses,” Derderian said of the arson. “Fortunately we were able to put it out right away.”
