A trough of low pressure will prevail off the West Coast through at least early next week, followed by a stronger system that may bring rain to the region, according to a National Weather Service forecast discussion Thursday morning.
Until Saturday, areas in Los Angeles County are expected to be dry with partly cloudy skies and temperatures three to six degrees above normal, with Sunday expected to be the warmest day, with highs at least 10 degrees above normal.
Starting Monday, the possibility of rain increases, with peak rain early Tuesday morning and then decreasing in the afternoon and evening. The chance of rain remains until Wednesday morning.
Friday is expected to be mostly sunny, with a high near 71 and a calm wind becoming southwest around five mph in the morning. Friday night should be partly cloudy, with a low around 51. A west wind blows at around five mph and becomes calm in the evening.
Saturday should be mostly sunny, with a high near 74 and a north northeast wind around five mph becoming calm. Saturday night should be partly cloudy, with a low around 54.
Sunday should be mostly sunny, with a high near 71. Sunday night should be partly cloudy, with a low around 53.
Monday is expected to have a slight chance of rain but otherwise should be partly sunny, with a high near 68. A chance of rain also is expected Monday night, but it should be mostly cloudy, with a low around 53.
Tuesday could have some rain but should be mostly cloudy, with a high near 70. A slight chance of rain is possible Tuesday night, which should be mostly cloudy, with a low around 48.
Wednesday also expects a chance of rain and should be mostly cloudy, with a high near 60.
