A 57-year-old San Marino woman was killed after she and her members of her family were struck by a car while dropping off her son at the University of Virginia for his first year of college.
Bonnie Baha, head of Global Developed Credit at DoubleLine Capital LP, succumbed to her injuries at the University of Virginia Medical Center after a car making its way into the Stonefield shopping center plowed into her Sunday afternoon, also striking her husband and daughter who escaped with non-life threatening injuries.
According to police, the family was crossing a street when a car making a left turn from Bond Street onto District Avenue hit them.
Baha was regarded as one of the best corporate credit analysts in the United States, according to Zero Hedge, a well-known financial website.
Baha’s husband, Mustapha, owns a construction consulting firm called MDB Enterprises.
Police said no charges have been filed yet and that the investigation is ongoing.
