Residents near West Orange Grove Blvd. and South Arlington Drive in Pasadena lost power Tuesday morning after a tree branch fell on overhead power lines in the area during a winter rainstorm.

Pasadena Water and Power spokesperson Margie Otto said about 500 customers in the area were affected, but service is estimated to be restored by 11:30 a.m. and sooner in some areas.

The tree branch fell before 8 a.m. this morning. Crews were on the scene immediately after the incident, Otto said.

PWP’s Twitter account contained the following advisory after the incident: “The outage was due to a fallen tree limb. Most customers have been restored now, and the last few customers will be restored by 11:30 a.m.”

Currently, there are only about five residents without power, Otto said.
