The Womans Civic League of Pasadena’s annual awards luncheon held on May 2, 2016 at the Womans City Club of Pasadena to honor 8th grade girls from all 7 of the Pasadena Unified School District’s Middle Schools is the highlight of the WCL calendar year. At this time the club members honor and recognize young ladies who have shown tremendous growth and tenacity during their middle school years, often facing family or academic struggles.

While lots of awards are presented at this time of year to outstanding scholars and athletes, this award goes deep into the character of the student. Civic League members believe that these young ladies are well on their way to a successful disciplined high school career, and were happy this year to help launch that with a certificate, a $100 gift card from Target and a bag of goodies presented as a lovely centerpiece on each table.
