Mayfield Junior School: A Great Way to Start the Day

One of the best things about being an 8th grader at Mayfield Junior School (MJS) is getting up very early in the morning to serve at the St. Francis Center in Los Angeles. Really.

Once a week a group of 4-5 students look forward to serving breakfast, passing out lunch bags (packed by the entire class the day before) and talking to the community. Sharing a smile, extending kindness and serving hope – perhaps the best way to start the day.
